Spartanburg, S.C. – December 11, 2006 -- CornerDrugstore.com was recently the focus of an article in a national publication. Retail Pharmacy Management profiled the benefits of the QS/1 service that allows pharmacies to have their own website that allows for prescription refills and other marketing benefits.
Here is the article as it appeared in the September/October 2006 edition of Retail Pharmacy Management:
Today, more than 500 pharmacies have Web sites powered by CornerDrugstore.com, a Web service that allows pharmacies to build their own Web sites.
Founded originally by the National Community Pharmacy Association to easily establish a Web presence, CornerDrugstore.com was acquired by QS/1’s parent, J M Smith Corporation, in 2001.
Each pharmacy can select its own Web address, and each site can be customized to reflect the look of individual pharmacies. Members can post pictures of their pharmacy, logo, hours of operation and store locations, and select from eight different color schemes.
Through CornerDrugstore.com’s Express Refill service, members can, if they have the QS/1 Pharmacy management system, integrate all their online orders directly into the QS/1 system. Pharmacies that do not have a QS/1 system can still use CornerDrugstore to receive prescription refill requests, which are transmitted to the pharmacy by fax.
Express Refill can validate and verify the refill order and queue it up with other prescription refill requests in real time. If a prescription refill request fails the validation test, the patient is immediately notified with a message explaining why the prescription could not be processed and what action is required.
In addition, CornerDrugstore.com offers a refill reminder program, pharmacy-related healthcare content such as interaction tools and drug depletion tools, as well as providing healthcare content and marketing tools such as flyers and bags printed with the pharmacy’s Web address.
